GANGTOK, 18 Nov: Save Kabi Longstok Committee has expressed displeasure over the presence of armed police personnel at the Sikue/ Neysol prayers held by the organization at Kabi Longstok yesterday.
In a press release issued today, the committee’s president, Sonam Tshering Bhutia, states that ‘fully armed’ police personnel entered the prayer complex, which, he contends, goes against dharma. “We felt hurt and insulted when such people entered the prayer complex armed with equipments”, he writes.
Meanwhile, the organizing committee of this year’s annual Sikue / Neysol prayers has extended gratitude to all the concerned, particularly the community members, Monks and Bongthings for the successful conduct of this annual puja. The committee has also thanked the co-convenors of Sikkim Bhutia Lepcha Apex Committee [SIBLAC] Tseten Tashi Bhutia and Chewang Ringzing Lepcha for attending the prayer ceremony.
