GANGTOK, 13 Oct: The Sikkim Table Tennis Association has announced plans to hold the 16th Open Table Tennis Championship from 04-07 November at the Paljor Stadium Gymnasium Hall.
The tournament, originally scheduled for earlier, was postponed following the 18 September earthquake.
“The Association is pleased to announce that the Airports Authority of India has been kind enough to convey the approval of the competent authority for an amount of Rs. 1 lakh towards Co-Sponsored of the event for the said championship in response to this STTA has remained highly obliged to the authority for their helping hands towards the promotion of Table Tennis Games in India,” an STTA press release informs.
The association so far has received 500 entries, the release adds.
