With this, he has qualified for the international rounds which are scheduled to be held in South Korea later this year. This event is scheduled for 14 November at Seoul.
The 24 year old rocker from Sikkim who made his mark with his maiden performance at Daffodils Homes when he was just a twelve year old studying in standard seven, after 12 years of hard work and perseverance is all set to rock the world with his talent.
Recalling his days as playing the lead role at the TNA annual day function some years back, Girish remembers his first band “Anarchy” which he formed with his friends and his younger brother who is also a band member of “Girish n the Chronicles.”
Since then, there has been no looking back for this talent who stood out against the rest be it at competitions, performances at all levels with Girish and the Chronicles. Gurgaon, Kharagpur, Kathmandu, Delhi and wherever he visited, he was able to leave a distinguished mark as a performer. His performances have also gone down as one of the best to be performed at Café Live N Loud, the hotspot for local performers to meet and jam in Gangtok!
Even when he was at SMIT, Majhitar for two years, he was declared the best vocalist at “Kaalrav” for two consecutive years. For the last two years, any competition that Girish has joined, he has always been declared the best vocalist and his band has stood above the rest.
What is even going great guns for Girish is that a Hong Kong-based music promotion company “Escape and Graphetti “had invited him for a ten day vocal clinic 15th to 24th August where he got a chance to visit various places in the city. Amidst a busy schedule, he met big artists and has been considered to be a leading force in the international rock circuit in the years ahead.
Keeping his unbridled talent in mind, the company signed a contract with Girish; it may be a seven year or a five year deal. The company will take charge of his promotion in the world rock music scene. At present deciding on what deal will suit his busy schedule and with his residential visa in process- he is scheduled to leave in mid- October thriving to be counted as one of the biggest rockers to ever come out from Sikkim and the Indian sub-continent. Kudos!
And before concluding, just to let all know that Girish n the Chronicles will be performing live at the Pang Lhabsol celebrations to be held at Ravangla on 12 September. “The band shall perform for Sikkim on 12th, which is why I have taken three days out from my hectic schedule. So catch you all there- this is also to say thank to all who have given me this recognition,” Girish says.
