Forest Deptt to light 1,000 butter lamps at Enchey Monastery in memory of tsunami victims in Japan

GANGTOK, 18 March: The Forest Department has arranged for 1,000 butter lamps to be lighted at the Enchey Monastery here in the memory of the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The butter lamps will be lit at a special function to be held at the monastery today at 4:30 p.m. The Forest Minister, Bhim Dhunget, is scheduled to attend the function.
