"Jaago Re Soccer Stars Season 4" to debut in Sikkim


GANGTOK, 14 MARCH: ‘Arsenal Tata Tea Jaago Re Soccer Stars’, the national tournament from Tata Tea in association with Arsenal FC, UK, will be coming to Gangtok for the first time in its fourth edition with the zonal round to be held at the Tashi Namgyal Academy ground,  on  19 and 20 March, informs a press release.

According to the release, General Secretary, Sikkim Football Association [SFA], Menla Ethenpa said, “this is the first time an event of this nature is being conducted in Sikkim and we are extremely happy with the sponsors and organizers for selecting Gangtok as one of the 15 venues. We all hope that the boys selected from the tournament make it to the squad for the 21st Arsenal International Soccer Festival in London”.  
The scouting process in Gangtok is likely to see more than 32 teams from various schools across Gangtok and surrounding areas competing for the national finals. The winning team will go on to compete in the national finals with 14 other finalists from different locations across the country, informs the release.
At the same time, former international player and the tournament Head Scout, Jamshid Nassiri, will keenly observe the tournament with an objective to identify promising kids with exceptional talent in the game. 30 such kids from the 15 venues will be selected to be trained by Arsenal Coaches both in India and in London. 16 of these kids will be selected and taken to the UK to participate in the Arsenal International Soccer Festival, adds the release.
The tournament is being organized by High Life Management under the guidance of the SFA.
