Fauji hospitality for stranded tourists

The 239 tourists stranded on the night of 07 January at 17 Mile [between Tsomgo and Gangtok] were treated to some army hospitality. The Black Cat Division of the Indian Army rescued the 37 vehicles carrying 239 tourists as they were stranded on the JN Marg at 10,350 ft, their return to Gangtok cut off by heavy snowfall along the road. The tourists were rescued and accommodated in Army accommodation with centralized heating for the night, an army press communiqué informs. Food, bedding, blankets and medical aid, was provided to make them comfortable during the short stay.
