WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATIONS ACROSS SIKKIM

At Tumin
MANGAN, 05 June: World Environment Day was celebrated by Barang Primary School in collaboration with Adhikari Brothers (SHG) of Lower Tumin, East Sikkim. The programme was attended by DN Nepal as chief guest and PP Adhikari as a special guest. Students and villagers conducted an awareness rally from the school premises to Shivalaya Mandir. They also planted more than 200 trees in the area.

GANGTOK, 06 June: World Environment Day was observed at Sudunglakha Secondary School, East Sikkim with a plantation programme in the presence of Chujachen MLA, Bikram Pradhan. On the occasion, the Headmaster of the school, staff and students planted saplings and recited poems on environment.

MANGAN, 06 June:  World Environment Day was also celebrated by Government Secondary school Manul in North Sikkim. A rally and street play was organised to spread awareness on environment concerns.  A cleanliness drive was also carried out and dustbin was placed near the Simling waterfall. It was decided to take care and maintain the premises of Simling waterfall.
