Chisopani JHS goes green for loved ones

SINGTAM, 06 June: Chisopani JHS joined the rest of the world in celebrating World Environment Day with a plantation drive on 05 June. More than 100 saplings were planted in and around the school. The plants included Jarul, Neem, Pine, Ashoka, Bottle Brush, Jack fruit, Nolina, Bougainvillea and others. The teachers, students and guardians were present during the plantation drive.
This year, the students and their parents planted saplings in memory of a loved one, informed Headmaster of the school, Mahesh Kumar Dahal.
Bindu Lamichanney, a Class VII student said that she planted a sapling in memory of Late Sonam Lama, a former teacher of the school. Sonam Sir was very popular among the students and he was a very good teacher and we all miss his presence at the school, she added. Nirmala Chettri, GT Maths informed that she planted a sapling for her mother.

After the plantation program, a short meeting between the school staff and the guardians was also held in the office. Different matters for the benefit of the school and students were discussed. Beautification of the two school heritage trees was also discussed. [from SHITAL PRADHAN]
