Land Revenue department holds coordination meet

GANGTOK, 10 June: A departmental coordination meeting of the Land Revenue & Disaster Management Department was held on 07 June in the Conference Hall of Manan Kendra. The meeting was chaired by the Secretary cum Relief Commissioner, LR& DMD, CT Wangdi and was attended by the District Collectors, ADC, SDMs and Officers of the Land Revenue & Disaster Management Department.
The Secretary in his welcome address informed the gathering that the purpose of the meeting was mainly to impress upon all officers for implementing Government policies pertaining to the Department and also to share issues between the Head Office and the districts for better coordination, informs a press release.
A brief summary of the directions issued by the Government regarding the office decorum to be maintained, clearing of files within prescribed time, clearing of pending works and punctuality as well as installation of bio metric attendance record system was intimated to the gathering.
Further, the Secretary stressed upon implementation of Revenue Order No. 1 in letter and spirit, leasing of land to COI holders, proper assessment of compensations, to study the issue of attestation of survey record of 1996-97 pertaining to Chungthang sub division and proper establishment and functioning of offices for the newly created sub divisions.
An open discussion was also held wherein the District Collectors suggested various innovative practices which could be taken up for smooth functioning of offices. The Secretary assured full cooperation from the Head Office in this regard, the release mentions.
The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by the Secretary.
