CM reiterates commitment to Sikkim and the Sikkimese

NAMCHI, 03 March: Chief Minister Pawan Chamling today reiterated that having already completed 25 years in politics in Sikkim, his life was now devoted completely to the service of the people here, with even his creative pursuits [the CM is also a poet] finding the muse in Sikkim and its people.
The CM was addressing the concluding day’s ceremonies of the Shri Vishwa Puran Gyan Mahayagya hosted at the Harishawar Shivalaya at Namthang in South Sikkim today.

Given the theme of the day, the Chief Minister also spoke on the spiritual underpinning of the Sikkimese ethos and reminded the audience that even success was incomplete if it was not nuanced with the ethics which spirituality endorsed. In this regard, he called on the people not to limit compassionate and pious thoughts only to religious occasions like the Mahayagya which concluded today, but to imbibe it in their daily lives as well.
On the occasion, the people of Namthang and his party workers placed a demand for addition of a science stream at the Namthang Senior Secondary School.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by the area MLA, Tilu Gurung, South District SDF party vice-president, GM Gurung, senior party workers from the Namthang-Rateypani constituency and the South District officials.
