Now, dial an LPG refill

Gangtok, 25 July [IPR]:  Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, NK Subba, launched a 24x7 Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) and SMS service for booking of domestic LPG cylinder here at the LPG Bottling Plant at Baghey Khola today.
The programme, organised by the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), was also attended by Secretary Food & Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, DP Sharma, General Manager, IOCL-West Bengal State Office, RN Ghosh, Special Secretary Tempo Gyamtso, STCS Managing Director Menla Ethenpa, Plant Manager, LPG Bottling Plant Baghey Khola, Anirban Roy, representatives of IOCL, and distributors affiliated to IOCL.
Minister Mr. Subba welcomed the initiative of the IOCL and assured support from the State government towards making this a successful venture. He called for coordination between the Department, IOCL and concerned stakeholders to ensure timely and user-friendly services to the people of Sikkim.
Earlier, General Manager Mr Ghosh while giving a detailed description about the functioning of this booking system, informed that with this launching the State will be ensured of the Refill Booking System through IVRS in all Indane Distribution Centers of Sikkim.
With this system, Indane customers can book refill at all times (24 hours a day, 365 days a year). Booking will be accepted on one common number - 9088324365 - for all distributors. Once this number is called, the customers have to input answers to a set of questions asked by the system. He further informed that the customer can book from their landline or through their mobile numbers.
However, it is preferable that the customers use their mobile number as they can get SMS updates regarding LPG refill booking and delivery, he added.
He said that the booking system is extremely user-friendly and has received positive responses from its pan-India customer base. He explained that the new system will ensure transparency in the refill and delivery system and customers will be intimated through SMS. Customers availing this facility will not have to bear the uncertainty of booking through telephone.
Mr. Ghosh called for active cooperation from all the distributors to make the people of Sikkim aware about the Refill Booking System.
