Dentam GPU completes construction of all CMRHM houses

GANGTOK, 20 July: Dentam GPU in West Sikkim has completed the construction of all the 29 houses sanctioned under the Chief Minister’s Rural Housing Mission in the GPU and has handed over all houses to the beneficiaries achieving hundred percent completion. All houses are Model-C, the RCC roofed one storied buildings.
A press release states that this is a unique milestone keeping in view that the scheme itself is a beneficiary driven scheme where the funds are directly paid to its beneficiary in installments. The entire process has given long term social security to the families of beneficiaries and it also allowed beneficiaries to have hands on experience in financial management in terms of fund management during the construction process.
Without serious intention on the part of the beneficiary, implementing department and the panchayats the achievement of completing all allotted houses would not have been possible, the release mentions.
On the progress of CMRHM houses in other GPUs, Gram Vikash Adhikari Dentam, Himmat Rai has informed that the other five GPUs under Dentam GVK are on the verge of achieving hundred percent completion very soon. The GVK intends to allot few more CMRHM houses soon in the 2nd lot depending upon the demand of pucca houses.
The GVA has congratulated the panchayats of Dentam GPU, beneficiaries, Ward level Construction Committees, his own GVK team and all concerned stakeholders of the Chief Minister’s Rural Housing Mission, the release adds.
