Young footballers vie for chance to practice under Bayern Munich coaches


GANGTOK, 20 July: More than 100 young footballers in the 14 to 16 years age group from different parts of the state participated in the selection process of the 5th Allianz Junior Football Camp 2014 held at Paljor Stadium on Saturday.
Bikash Pradhan of West Point Senior Secondary School and Prashant Biswakarma of Central Pendam have been selected for the final camp scheduled to be held at Mohun Bagan Football Academy, Kolkata on 26 July. The selection process was held under the supervision of state football coaches, Suren Chettri and Amos Lepcha.
The final camp at Kolkata will also be joined by selected footballers from other states out of which the best footballers would get the chance to attend the 5th International Football Camp that will take place in Munich, Germany in August 2014.
Bajaj Allianz has launched the selection process for Allianz Junior Football Camp 2014 in India. Allianz, an official partner of FC Bayern Munich is hosting its 5th International Football Camp that will take place in Munich, Germany in August 2014.
Bajaj Allianz Senior Branch Manager, Gangtok, Sujit Ranjan informs that during this camp, teenagers between 14 to 16 years would get the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to practice under the FC Bayern Munich coaches on the club’s official training ground and attend a match at Allianz Arena. It is informed that footballers would also get the chance to meet FC Bayern Munich footballers, many of whom had represented Germany in the recently held FIFA World Cup 2014.
“On their return from Germany, these players would also be given a chance to further groom their football skills at the Mohun Bagan SAIL Football Academy for one year,” he added.
