Yangang BAC school heads deliberate on inclusive education

NAMCHI, 14 Mar: A coordination meeting with the headmasters of Junior High Schools and Primary Schools under Yangang Block Administrative Centre (BAC) was held today at Yangang BAC Cell, South Sikkim. The coordination meeting focused on inclusive education for Children with Special Needs (CWSN) and was hosted by Cluster Resource Coordinator (CRC) Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, HRDD, TN Sharma.
Mr Sharma highlighted the valuable suggestions regarding holistic concept of new education policy adopted by HRDD, Government of Sikkim.The Assistant Education Officer (AEO), T Gyatso of Yangang BAC in his address called all the school heads to cooperate and coordinate with the Block Resource Centre so as to make Yangang BAC a model BAC in the context of education.
Resource Teacher, Inclusive Education, Mahindra Sharma highlighted the main theme of the programme related with CWSN under Inclusive Education. Further headmaster Sreepatam JHS spoke on the role and function of the members of School Management Committee (SMC) in schools. This was followed by an interactive session wherein all school heads raised issues and problems related to academic excellence, departmental coordination and other relevant topics.
AEO Yangang BAC, Mr Gyatso assured the participating school heads that these issues and problems would be overcome and informed that all the problems have been forwarded to the district office and headquarters.
Altogether 28 school heads participated in the coordination meeting held today at Yangang BAC.
