Suicide intervention discussed in St Xavier’s, Pakyong


GANGTOK, 25 Jan: CARE [Concerned for Complete Life] a self supporting registered NGO was invited by Sikkim Catholic Youth to give a deliberation and presentation on "Probable Prevention of Suicide" at St. Xavier's School, Pakyong on 24 January, informs a press release.
CARE was represented by Milan Rai and Ongdup Lepcha. The main focus of the discourse was to be aware of the signs, symptoms and intervention of suicide and how to handle vulnerable conditions among the youth of Sikkim, the release informs.
Along with the amalgamation of the biblical perspective and presentation, CARE was successful in spreading the message on the preciousness and sustenance of life, the release mentions. Around 200 youth participated in the seminar.
From its inception in 2006 CARE has been organizing various seminars and workshops in different areas of Sikkim through radio play, skits and presentations, the release adds.
