Visiting academics teach phonetics at Namchi

PURAN TAMANG
NAMCHI, 18 Feb: Three Australians, Evelyn Gassard [Coordinator, LEM Phonics, Australia], Rev. Richard Wilson [Coordinator Reforms fellowship of Australia] and Annie Joy [Assistant] were on a visit to Sikkim with the aim of sharing some of their knowledge and experience. During their seven days stay at Namchi they tutored the students and teachers of Newlight Academy on spoken and written English.
Today was their last day in Namchi, and the Principal Newlight Academy, Lopzang Lama, along with the teachers and students expressed their gratitude towards them. They will be leaving for Gangtok tomorrow where they also plan to teach phonetics in some of the schools here.
