SDF facilitates treatment for 69 patients from Sikkim in New Delhi


GANGTOK, 18 Feb: The Sikkim Democratic Front party has facilitated the treatment of 69 patients from Sikkim in New Delhi. The patients were escorted to Delhi by a seven-member team of SDF workers and were treated there for a variety of ailments. The team returned to Sikkim on 15 February.
An SDF press release informs that among the 69 patients, 11 underwent eye operations, one, a hernia operation, one had a minor leg operation, 34 received eye check-ups and others, special treatment for different ailments.
The party has taken this initiative for underprivileged people of the state from the different parts who were unable to go outside the state for treatment on their own.
Among the members of the team, Vijay Rai of Jorethang and Tikaram Dahal of Ralay-Tumin Lingee also donated blood to the under treatment patients, it is informed.
The team had left for New Delhi on 31 January with the 69 patients.
