HRDD urges students to apply for professional courses at empanelled colleges

GANGTOK, 11 July: The Human Resource Development Department has urged students to apply for admission in institutions with professional courses that have been empanelled by the department.
A press release from the department informs that in order to solve the problem of accommodating the large number of students seeking college admission, the Human Resource Development Department has empanelled a number of institutions with professional courses throughout the country.
Seats in courses like BCA, BBA, BSC (Nursing) GNM, Bio-Tech, Micro Biology, B.Tech., Diploma in Technical Education, B.Sc. through IGNOU, B.A. in Service Technology, Tourism Hospitality Management, etc are still available. A new combination of Economics, Statistics and Mathematics has also been introduced.
There are also many private institutions in the state where regular and professional courses are available. Some of these courses are free of cost for SC/ST/OBC(c). The list of courses are uploaded in the website www.sikkimhrdd.org which is regularly updated, the release mentions.
Parents and the public are requested to encourage students to take advantage of the courses available. People can contact Director (Technical Education), HRDD for further details.
