Sahitya Akademi teams meets Nepali Sahitya Parishad, resolves to work together

GANGTOK, 03 June: Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi has assured all help for the development of literary activities for the overall development of Nepali literature including literature in other languages of Sikkim.
In a press release, Nepali Sahitya Parishad, Sikkim informs that a four-member team from the Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi led by Deputy Secretary, Brajendra Tripathi met with the members of the Nepali Sahitya Parishad here at Development Area.
Following the meeting, past bitterness between the two organisations was resolved and the Parishad also confessed to having committed numerous mistakes in the past which it assured would not be repeated, the release states.
The Nepali Sahitya Parishad president, Churamani Khatiwara apprised the Sahitya Akademi team about the activities of the Parishad. At the same time, Mr Tripathi stressed on the need for cooperation for development of languages and asked the Parishad to set aside personal differences to this end.
Mr Khatiwara also extended an invitation to the Akademi for the 200th birth anniversary of Bhanu Bhakta Acharya which is celebrated as Bhanu Jayanti every year. This year's celebration is expected to be organised in a grand manner in the state.
