GANGTOK, 12 May [IPR]: The Finance, Revenue and Expenditure Department conducted written examination for filling of 150 posts of Accounts Clerk/ Store Keepers today at 14 centers in and around Gangtok. The posts were advertised in June 2012. A total of 11,191 applications forms were issued against which 8,783 forms duly filled were received by the Department. After scrutiny, 8732 forms were found in order fulfilling the various criteria prescribed by the department. Admit cards for sitting in the written examinations were obtained by 7,363 candidates between 15 April to 10 May 2013.
The examinations were conducted under the supervision of officials from the Finance department for which 10 nodal officers and 28 center coordinators and assistant coordinators were appointed.
The written examination consisted of 140 marks having four papers viz. Arithmetic 80 marks, General English 20 marks, General Knowledge 20 marks and Basic Computer applications 20 marks. The viva voce test will be conducted for those candidates who qualify in the written examination as per the norms prescribed by the Departmental Selection Committee. The written examination was conducted on the objective type to fit the OMR (Optical Marks Recognition) technology.
The department had prepared detailed operative guidelines for conducting of examination which included appointment of center supervisor, assistant supervisor, sitting plan, action for use of unfair means, opening and distribution of question papers, attendance list of appearing candidates, supply of answer books, release of question papers, packing and dispatch of OMR sheets etc. Detailed Do’s and Don’ts about OMR were also issued to the candidates along with the admit cards to facilitate them to prepare well in advance for the written examination.
Special arrangements were also made for the differently-abled candidates.
The successful candidates in the written examination will be called for the viva voce and on final selection, memorandum will be issued for fulfilling the formalities for issuing final appointment letters.
The department observed absolute transparency in conducting the written examination and it is expected the result of the written examination will be announced and published very shortly. The results will also be available on the Government of Sikkim website Sikkim.gov.in and sikkimfred.gov.in.
Finance Department has also expressed its gratefulness to the police department and the educational institutions for extending their cooperation and assistance for smooth conducting of exams.

could we know the name of the candidates who have been selected for viva-voice test for the post of ac clerk/junior store keeper as some of us misplaced our admit card and believe our roll no could be selected for the same..
