AJKS THANKS WRITER FOR PRESENTING PLIGHT OF SC FAMILY TO WIDER AUDIENCE

Letter:
In reference to the “Viewpoint” published in your newspaper on 17 July 2012, “Seeking their rightful identity. Can they expect some assistance” written by a resident of Majhitar, Rangpo. Anushuchit Jati Kalyan Sangh, Namchi, South Sikkim thanks the writer for bringing up the issue through his write-up which works as a eye-opener for the Sangh like AJKS which is committed to work for the welfare of the Scheduled Caste community of the State.
AJKS sincerely express the apology to those family members of Rakdong Tintek, a small hamlet of East Sikkim, who are going through the tough time and AJKS unable to extend any help to them and also unaware till the matter was brought to light by the print media.
AJKS thanks and is really in debt of Mr. Y. B. Bista, a teacher of Rakdong Tintek JHS for providing a piece of land and Mr. G.P. Nirola, Principal, Sunrise Public School, Rakdong for sponsoring the children of that family. We salute both of them for their kindness.
If Sita Biswakarma and Laxuman Biswakarma are regularly paying Dhuri Khazana to the concerned department and posses BPL cards, Voters Cards, AJKS hopes that the Government or the concerned District Collectorate will provide the Certificate of Identification (CoI) as per the norms. AJKS agrees that if they are given CoI, then the educated members of the family will be able to secure a proper job to support the family.
AJKS though the newspaper appeals to the All Sikkim Scheduled Caste Welfare Association, Scheduled Castes Officers Club, politicians, social workers and the conscious individuals of the Scheduled Caste community to come forward and become the eyes, ears and mouths of this family. It’s high time to all of us to come together this family. AJKS assure full support to this family.
Binay Gazmer, Chief Co-ordinator, AJKS
