MANGAN, 19 March: A free veterinary-cum-awareness camp on domestic animals was organised at Singbel, East Sikkim, by NHPC Teesta-V Power Station in association with Yuwa Jagriti Sangh on 15 March. The programme was inaugurated by General Secretary, Singbel GPU, HB Chettri, and had Dr. Arjun Adhikari of Paksam Veticare as resource person.
More than 100 families from villages under Singbel, Ralap and Rangtu GPUs attended the camp and benefitted from the visiting Veterinary Surgeon treating their livestock and distributing free medicines.
During the programme, Dr. Adhikari passed on tips on how to select the place for an animal shed, shed structure, preventive measures, common diseases, locally available medicines etc.
A similar camp was also held at Lower Samdong in East Sikkim on 11 and 12 March. This camp was attended by over 200 households from villages under Samdong, Kambal, Rakdong Tintek and Patuk Kokaley GPUs.
