There are many theories propounded about how the Universe or the Earth came into existence. Some say that there was a Big Bang at the time of its creation. While some others with spiritual inclination say that it emerged with Pranava or Om sound, the primordial sound. A section among the latter believes that sound itself is God. Without going into all these and without delving into thoughts and questions, like chicken or egg first, I want to subscribe so as the many Sikkimese to what has been said by Shri. Bhim Dahal in your newspaper dated 17th March under the caption ‘Siddheshwar Dhaam: A Dazzling Addition to Our
Cultural History and Devotion’ that the construction of Siddheshwar Dhaam epitomises the love and emotions of the people of Sikkim to the country, a very rare feat and achievement as we see very little in this respect in most parts of the country. It is a noble achievement. It also reflects the deeply religious sentiments and the feelings of our people. It is a tribute from the people of Sikkim to all the countrymen residing in the entire country. It unifies Sikkim with the country or in other words it unifies country with Sikkim like the two sides of a coin.Secondly, the conception and consummation of such thinking could not have taken place in a day or two. Certainly this could have emerged only after considerable thinking and rethinking which may have taken days and years. This thinking could not have come out from a non pious person but only from a
deeply religious down to earth person. Our tribute goes to this person.
Thirdly, the construction of the tallest statue of Guru Padmasambhava at Samdruptse has already radiated spiritual vibrations making the whole place nay the entire state alive with blessings and protection of Guru Rinpoche. We are doubly benefitted as the prayers of the people visiting Samdruptse and Siddheshwar
Dhaam render invocations and blessings for all of us. Fourthly, Sikkim has convincingly given the message loud and clear that it has carved out for itself a permanent niche in religious tourism in the country. Truly Rhonda Byrne’s statement has proved correct. Only those who think and do make the difference. Not all reach the top. To reach the top and stay there for long needs intrinsic quality of humility, love for the people and actions for the people. The French novelist Anatole France has aptly said “To know is nothing at all; to imagine is everything” And only leaders of such calibre and mettle can do this.

why does a state so rich in spirituality (as the letter implies) and well just rich too (read about the Tendulkar report elsewhere in this blog)have the country's highest rate of suicides?
something doesn't add. maybe the Australian TV personality who seems to be the intellectual inspiration behind so many offerings on this blog have a quotation on that too?
I would like to congratulate the GOS for all the religious sites but are we not part of a secular country, so is the Govt doing the right thing by installing huge statues. Apart from that, its seen once the monoliths come up there is really no up keep and soon start falling apart!! so with the process of building the statues and temples , there should be a mechanism for looking after the hugely expensive structures!!!
