GANGTOK, 18 March: The All Sikkim Democratic Labour Front, the labour arm of the ruling party, in a meeting of its Central Executive Committee convened at the SDF head office here today, resolved to approach the Chief Minister with a demand to seek a Regional Office of the Employment Providend Fund in Sikkim.
This demand, a press release issued by the ASDLF vice-convenor MB Limboo informs, was necessitated following a slew of complaints received by the organisation from labourers in the State “suffering EPF problems”.
Today’s meeting, chaired by the ASDLF vice president, BM Ramudamu, also decided to dissolve all adhoc District committees of the organisation and have them reconstituted within a month.
Meanwhile, the central committee has also decided to undertake a study tour of all the institutions and project sites in the State to check on the welfare of workers engaged there.
