SU awards for faculty, management and students

GANGTOK, 05 Aug: Teachers, students and management staff were awarded today as part of the 4th Foundation Day celebration, as a part of which of Sikkim University the foundation day lecture was hosted here at Chintan Bhawan.
This annual awards to acknowledge and appreciate the contribution by both academic and management staff in taking the university to newer heights has been constituted by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Mahendra P Lama on the occasion of 4th Foundation Day.

The Best Teacher Award in School of Social Sciences was given to Dr N Sebastian while Dr Samik Nag received the Best Teacher Award in School of Sciences of the SU.
Likewise, the Best Teacher Award at the College level were given to Jiban Upadhyaya from Sikkim Government College, Winkeyla Basi from Sikkim Government Law College, Supriya Dutta from Himalayan Pharmacy College, KL Singh from Government B Ed College, Soreng, Shova Tamang from Damber Singh College, Savita Mishra from Harkamaya College of Education, Harajit Goswami from Government College, Rhenock, Nikash Silwal from Pakim Palantine College, Sebastian NJ from Loyala College of Education and Laxmi Rai from Namchi Government College.
The Award for highest time spent in the Library was given to Ritesh Kumar of Department of Psychology Studies and to Dr Sohel Firdos from Department of Geography and Natural Resources Management. Pankaj Kshettry received the Best Management Staff Award.
Among the SU teams for the Winter Sojourn, the Border Team received the Best Performing Team award while the Best Presentation Team award was received by the Water Team. 
Likewise, Best participant award was conferred on Sunil Pradhan of Space Team and Shraddha Adhikari of Conflict Team and the Best Photography award was received by Basanti Rai of Border Team.
Winter Sojourn is a flagship programme of Sikkim University aimed at providing adequate and deeper field exposure to students and teachers.

Congratulations to the ones who received the award but going thru the list it seems very new staff members have been awarded esp from the management team......what about the ppl who were there when things were not in place, for the newcomer it was easy to come in and get to work!! what happenend to the effort of the ppl in the evaluation cell who without any question devote so much of their time there...what innovative idea has been brought by the staff who has just joined some time in Dec only!! cheers to the VC for not recognising hard work and having blinkers on!!!!
