Mr. Sikkims pump up for Mr. India championship


GANGTOK: Three Sikkim Armed Police (SAP) jawans are prepared to pump their muscles for the Mr. India title at the 51st Senior National Body Building Championship to be held between 9 and 11 April at Bangalore.
The three SAP jawans – former Mr. Sikkim body building champions Pema Dorjee Bhutia and Suresh Chettri along with the current Mr. Sikkim, Santa Kumar Pradhan – have been selected by the Sikkim State Body Building Association (SSBBA) to take part in the Mr. India championship. Bhutia will battle for the title in the 75kg and above category while Pradhan and Chettri will compete in the 60kg category and 65kg category, respectively.

The selection process was held on 19 March at Central gym in Development Area, Gangtok, by a committee comprising of SBBA, Joint Secretary, IB Gurung, Vice President, Arun Gurung, Assistant Secretary, Rishi Chettri and Publicity Secretary, Sunil Gurung. The trio, accompanied by IB Gurung, coach-cum-national body building judge and Arun Gurung, will leave for Bangalore on 5 April.
