Sikkim Subject Bachao Committee announces meetings for Mangan and Sombaria


GANGTOK, 07 Feb: The Sikkim Subject Bachao Committee, a collective of Opposition parties rallied against the State Government’s move to issue Residential Certificates [to those who have been residing here since before 26 April 1975], at a meeting held yesterday under the chairmanship of the committee president, State Congress president Nar Bahadur Bhandari, decided to hold meetings at Mangan [on 20 Feb] and Sombaria in West Sikkim [on 28 Feb] to argue its stand against the RCs.
A press release issued by the committee’s spokesperson, the Sikkim National People’s Party president, Biraj Adhihari, informs that yesterday’s meeting also reaffirmed the commitment of the members to protest the RC regime and strive to have the concerned notification withdrawn.
