SKM candidates thank voters

GANGTOK, 14 Apr: Sikkim Krantikari Morcha Sangha candidate, Sonam Lama and Shyari candidate, Kunga Nima Lepcha have congratulated the Sikkimese people for exercising their franchise on 12 April.
In a joint press release, the two SKM candidates have thanked voters of Sangha and Syari BL constituencies for exercising their democratic right in overwhelming majority and passion which shall definitely ensure better democratic transparency and change that Sikkim currently requires.
“With the same breath, we thank the Election Commission of India for conducting this election in the best possible manner. We look forward that the Commission will leave no stone unturned in further ensuring post-poll peace and order in all manners”, the release expresses.

Shyari registered a voter turnout of 78.54%, slightly lower than the state average of 81.7%. Out of the 12,714 registered voters [including Sangha] in Shyari, 9,985 exercised their franchise on Saturday.
