Two UDs, one a suspected overdose


GANGTOK, 29 June: Two Unnatural Deaths [UD] were reported on 28 June, one from Temi and the other Ranipool.
In the Temi Police Station case, a 19-year-old boy of Sawaney basti in East Sikkim was found dead. On 28 June at around 1.30 PM, the police received information of a dead body recovered near Chileuney Dara, Aadhar Gaon. The body was later identified by his father.
The deceased had recently been released from jail, it is informed. As of now the cause of death is suspected to be drug overdose. The case is under investigation.
Under the Ranipool Police Station, a dead body in advanced stage of decomposition was recovered from the Rani Khola in the afternoon of 28 June. Inquest was conducted and the body was forwarded to Central Referral Hospital, Manipal at Tadong for post mortem and preservation for 72 hours. Efforts are being made to identify the person.
