Mobile phones worth Rs 1.79 lakh ‘missing’

GANGTOK, 30 June: A package of brand new mobile phones worth Rs 1.79 lakh has been reported “missing”” by GATI-KWE Tambutar Transport Agency and FIR has been lodged at the Ranipool Police Station on Sunday.
According to the FIR, while unloading the shipment from one of the transport vehicles at Setipool on 25 June, two boxes with brand new mobile phones were found missing.

It was subsequently learnt that the two boxes had fallen off from the truck at Setipool and could have been picked up by some passersby. Efforts are on to identify those involved.
