Army opens railways Passenger Reservation System at Gangtok

GANGTOK, 21 Apr: A Passenger Reservation System (PRS) was inaugurated at Gangtok today under the aegis of Black Cat Division. GOC Trishakti Corps Lt Gen KJ Singh inaugurated the system in the presence of GOC Black Cat Division, Maj Gen YVK Mohan.
A press release informs that the Army authorities at Gangtok, in collaboration with Indian Railways, have hired a 2 MBPS lease line connectivity for faster speed between Gangtok and Indian Railways Reservation Server at Siliguri.
The PRS will be open on all days and the facility will immensely benefit railway reservation for the around 3,000 soldiers and civil employees of Black Cat Division posted at Gangtok, Penangla and in border areas. The facility is open for civilians and will also benefit the local civil population of Gangtok, the release mentions.
