Everester Kazi Sherpa accorded warm welcome at Rangpo


RANGPO, 30 May: Mountaineer Kazi Sherpa returned home today and was given a warm welcome at Rangpo by members of the Denzong Sherpa Association and Sikkim Mountaineering Association. Tourism Minister, Bhim Dhungel, was also present at Rangpo to welcome Mr Sherpa, who successfully scaled Mt Everest on 20 May. Members of the Sherpa community present at the function congratulated Mr Sherpa for his feat and also thanked the State Government for its support to Mr. Sherpa’s effort. [from SANJAY AGARWAL]
