GANGTOK, 07 Nov: Union Minister of State for Power,K.C. Venugopal visited Sikkim on 06 November. On his way to Sikkim, he visited Teesta Low Dam Stage-III and Stage-IV and inspected the on going construction works of NHPC at these projects.
On reaching Gangtok, the Minister was greeted by Power Minister of Sikkim, Sonam G. Lepcha and Secretary (Power),A.K. Giri. Mr Venugopal had a brief discussion with Mr Lepcha about the progress of Teesta-IV Project of NHPC and requested to take necessary steps so that early execution of this Project is possible. He also enquired from NHPC as well as Powergrid officials regarding the damages if any faced during recent earthquake.
The Minister was accompanied by Director (Project),J.K. Sharma, and Executive Director (Siliguri Region) of NHPC Limited, Dhiman Parija.
