GANGTOK, 25 May: Sikkim Chapter of Universal Peace
Federation is all set to celebrate Global Day of Parents on 01 June. The UPF, an
NGO founded by Fr SM Moon is dedicated to the cause of World Peace.
As per a press release, in a meeting held today at the UPF
Office under Director Birendra Shreshtha a number of issues were discussed. A
Celebration Committee has been formed under the chairmanship of P Shreshtha.
The members were informed that the Chairman of UPF Asia, Dr.
Chung Sik Yong will be the chief guest on the Global Day of Parents while Minister
for Social Justice, Empowerment & Welfare, Tulshi Devi Rai will be present as
the guest of honour. The day is celebrated to remind the parents and children
of their responsibilities and love towards each other, the release mentions.
UPF members have also congratulated Pawan Chamling on his 5th
consecutive term as the Chief Minister of Sikkim.
