Slums of Gangtok and Ranipool notified
GANGTOK, 19 June: With the intention to implement the Slum Free City Planning Scheme under Rajiv Awas Yojana [RAY] and other allied programmes, the Urban Development & Housing Department, through a new notification, has made amendments in the descriptive boundaries of the earlier notified slums of Gangtok and Ranipool.
The latest notification of the Department has distributed Gangtok into eight locations, whereas, slum areas of Ranipool has been divided in three locations.
The details of the boundaries of Gangtok slum areas are as follows:
Munshi Colony below Development Area
North: Bounded by the two northern end points of East & West sides i.e. intersection of TNSSS road and B.B. Lohar Jhora & intersection of B.R. Ambedkar Road & B.B. Lohar jhora in front of Tamang Gumpa.
East: From the intersection of TNSSS road and B.B. Lohar Jhora the boundary runs south all along the TNSSS road till the Shopping Complex presently Science & Technology Office.
