GANGTOK, 09 Sept: With the State government all set to conduct the Socio-Economic and Caste Census later this year, officers have been designated as Principal Socio-Economic and Caste Census 2011 Officers (PSO), District Socio-Economic and Caste Census 2011 Officer (DSO) to assist the PSO, and Charge Officer (CO) for the Socio-Economic and Caste Census 2011.
The District Collectors are designated as Principal Socio-Economic and Caste Census 2011 Officers (PSO).
The Additional District Collector (Development) is designated as District Socio Economic and Caste Census 2011 Officer (DSO) to assist PSO. The Deputy Municipal Commissioner, GMC and Municipal Executive Officer, Namchi Municipal Council have been designated as Charge Officers along with other officials of the UDHD.
The Socio- Economic and Caste Census would be carried out by the respective State Government with financial and technical support of the Government of India.
