GANGTOKIANS OFFER PRAYERS TO THE SETTING SUN ON CHHATH PUJA

Members of the Bihari community of Gangtok gathered at the Thakurbari complex, MG Marg today for the Sandhya Arghya [evening offerings] of the Chhath Puja. On the eve of this day, the entire household goes to a water-body to make offerings to the setting sun. Usha Arghya [morning offerings] is performed the following morning where people make offerings to the rising sun.
