GANGTOK, 14 July: Following the government notification barring government employees from becoming members of any association, government employee members of the Sikkim Strength Lifting Association [SSLA] submitted their resignations from executive and primary membership in the association.
An SSLA meeting held here today accepted the resignations of Jaslall Pradhan as president, Pintso Namgyal as general secretary and Pema Dorjee as treasurer of the association. In the meeting, the existing executive committee was also dissolved and an adhoc committee has also been formed to run the association until the new executive committee takes charge.
The adhoc committee is headed by Jigme Wangchuk as president, Palden Bhutia as vice-president, Randeep Khati as general secretary, Allen Targain as joint secretary, Rahul Sarda as treasurer and Rinzing Wangyal Chophel as publicity secretary.
