BJP begins campaign

GANGTOK, 30 Mar: The Bharatiya Janata Party [BJP] candidate from West Pendam, Amar Lohar convened a general meeting of the state unit of the party at Rangpo today.
A BJP press release informs that the meeting was attended by Sikkim state BJP president, Palden Wangchuk, senior member DN Tiwari and SB Chettri. The state president stressed on the fact that if the state BJP Lok Sabha candidate, NB Khatiwara is elected and the party forms government at the centre, the socio-economic development of Sikkim would be well looked after.
The state president also presided over the opening of the Rangpo branch office of the BJP Party.
The BJP candidate for Namcheybung, Tashi Rai, who toured the area, received a warm response from a large section of the voters disenchanted with the 20 years of SDF government, and who could not repose faith in the opposition SKM party either, the release states.
In Gangtok constituency, the BJP candidate, NG Dorji is also on the campaign trail. Being a novice in the political field, he says he lacks experience that other candidates of opposition parties possess and for now is reaching out to friends, close acquaintances, and well wishers. Mr. Dorji is scheduled to start his election campaign on a war footing soon, the release informs.
For the present, Mr. Dorji says, that he is on a “run silent, run deep” mode and that with the “blessings of Narendra Modi, and the BJP Party, he can prove that napatyaundo khola le bagaoncha”.
From Yangthang constituency, the BJP candidate, Ashish Gurung along with a delegation of 30 youth supporters and members of the constituency level committee met the party president at his residence. Mr Gurung is scheduled to begin campaigning from Monday, the release mentions.

BJP began its election campaign on Saturday from Khamdong-Singtam constituency where its candidate, MK Sharma urged voters to bring the BJP to power at the state and centre.

BJP begins election campaign from Khamdong-Singtam

GANGTOK, 28 Mar: The Bharatiya Janata Party [BJP] began its election campaign from Khamdong-Singtam constituency today. The party’s candidate from the constituency, Madan Kr Sharma started his campaign with the BJP slogan “ghar-ghar Modi, dar-dar Modi, BJP ko vote do, SDF aur SKM ko chhor do”.
He called for the need to bring BJP to power both at the centre and state for a better future for both Sikkim and the nation.

The BJP is contesting the Lok Sabha elections and has fielded 14 candidates for the Assembly elections.
