MANGAN, 04 Oct: The North District administration under the guidance of District Collector North, CP Dhakal organized a programme to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti at the multi-purpose hall of Mangan Senior Secondary School on 02 October.
The function had MLA Lachen-Mangan, TW Lepcha as the chief guest accompanied by the district officials and local residents. The function started with the chief guest paying homage to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi followed by a brief address by the chief guest and the District Collector. A colorful cultural programme was also staged to entertain the gathering.
Also on the day, North District administration felicitated four national awardees from North Sikkim namely Palden Bhutia [SDPO Mangan], KT Bhutia [Deputy Director, Animal Husbandry North], Tempa Ringzing Bhutia [Headmaster Rang Rang JHS] and Sangkit Lepcha [teacher Singhik SS].
