GANGTOK, 10 Nov: A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the North East Livelihood Promotion Society (NELPS), Ministry of DoNER and State Institute of Capacity Building (SICB), Karfectar, South Sikkim was executed today at Karfectar.
The basic purpose of the MOU is to establish the terms and conditions under which both the organizations could work together on Livelihood opportunities for skill development of the South and West District including fifteen (15) panchayat wards of East Sikkim.
The focus area of the SICB is to develop skill amongst the youth of the State while the focus area of NELPS is to provide Livelihood support through self help groups. Both the organizations will work together simultaneously for the skill development of the youth in various subjects including entrepreneurship development of the prospective trainees.
The NELPS will be having offices at Karfectar for the South District and Gyalshing in the West District. The SICB has provided space support to the NELPS for establishing their District Office at Karfectar to synergize and converge the programmes for the benefit of the youth. Project Manager (Admn.) of NELPS,Amit Kumar Kar and Chief Administrator SICB, S.D. Dhakal on behalf of SICB signed the MOU in the presence of State Coordinator, North East Rural Livelihood Project, Sikkim.D.T. Bhutia and Joint Chief Administrator of SICB, K.B. Pradhan,.
