GANGTOK, 10 Nov: All Sikkim Democratic Labour Front in a meeting convened today under the chairmanship of its vice-president, BM Ramudamu observed two minutes silence to mourn the death of Sarika Rai who was crushed under a truck yesterday at Majhitar.
The meeting prayed for the departed soul and expressed that ASDLF stands by the bereaved family, informs a press release issued by the coordinator, ASDLF, Krishna Kharel.
ASDLF also prayed for the speedy recovery of another victim, an employee of Zydus Company who was also hit by the same truck and demanded legal action against the accused.
Further the meeting resolved to take a tour of all the industrial units across the state to get an update of the status of the labourers and collect their grievances, the release informs.
The meeting also decided to expand the branches of ASDLF in all the industrial units in the state.
