NAMCHI, 07 Nov: The aquarium at the Central Park Namchi had been undergoing maintenance work for the past two months and is now once again filled with rare species of fish bringing back the charm of the Central Park.
The aquarium has been refilled keeping in mind the Siddheshwar Dham inauguration to be held at Solophok, Namchi tomorrow. On reports of a leakage in the aquarium today, officials from the concerned department i.e. the UD&HD and the Paksam Groups while speaking to mediapersons, mentioned that the aquarium was under renovation all these days and the fish had been shifted to a temporary aquarium.
While the aquarium was under renovation, the 18 September quake added to the damage which could not be traced, but keeping in mind the inauguration of Chardham at Solophok and also to add to its glory the department refilled the aquarium with water on an emergency basis, they informed.
The renovation work is still under process and the previous leakage has been renovated but the recent damage caused due to the earthquake which includes the leakage was discovered only today, for which the department will work accordingly, it was informed. The concerned officials clarified that the leakage is not due to any negligence on their part or the department but is an added problem which came to notice today.
