GANGTOK, 13 Nov [IPR]: Speaker, Sikkim Legislative Assembly, KT Gyalsten, accompanied by the Secretary, SLA, will be leaving for Guwahati on 14 November to attend the executive meeting of the North-East Region Institute of Parliamentary Studies, Training of Research and North-East Region Commonwealth Parliamentary Association being held at Dispur, Guwahati, scheduled for 15 November.
The NERIPSTR meeting is being held mainly for electing the President of NERIPSTR which is lying vacant due to the induction of former Speaker of Assam/President of NERIPSTR, TB Rai in the present Assam Ministry.
SLA, Speaker, KT Gyalsten also the Vice President of the NERIPSTR will preside over the Executive Meeting for election for the post of President of NERIPSTR. The Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the North East Region who are the members will attend the meetings.
The meeting will continue with another Executive Meeting on NERCPA on the same day. The agenda of the said meeting will be mainly for selection of topics/agendas and other related issues of the North East region which are to be taken up in the next general meeting of NERCPA which is likely to be held sometime in January, 2012. The delegates are likely to return on 17 November, 2011.
