MCM wins Inter-Dojang Taekwondo championship

GANGTOK, 17 Nov: MCM Dojang [White Hall complex] emerged champions of the 3rd edition of the state-level Inter-Dojang Taekwondo Poomsae Championship held at Paljor Stadium today, with Tashi Namgyal Academy Dojang lifting the runners-up trophy.
The championship was organised by Sikkim Amateur Taekwondo Association [SATA] wherein the participating Dojangs were MCM, West Point Senior Secondary School, Namchi, Uttarey and Tashi Namgyal Academy. Different events under Individual [sub-junior & junior], Pair [sub-junior & junior] and Team [sub-junior & junior] categories were held. 
A panel of judges headed by the chief referee, 6th Dan Trilok Subba along with Rajen Subba [3rd Dan], Sarita Chettri [1st Dan], Kumar Bardewa [1st Dan], Pempa Dolma Tamang [1st Dan] and Sabina Sundas [2nd Dan] judged the competition.
Speaking to NOW! SATA chief coach, Mr Subba, informed that this was also a preparatory event for the up-coming East Zonal Taekwondo Championship scheduled to be held in Shillong in the month of December and also for the 5th edition of the National Taekwondo Poomsae Championships to be held in January next year.
He informed that gold, silver and bronze medallists of the championship will undergo a winter camp scheduled to be held at MCM Dojang at White Hall complex in December. He further informed that in the camp the team members for both the upcoming championships will be finalised.
The winners of the championship were awarded with championship trophies, medals and certificates.
