GANGTOK, 13 Nov: The All Sikkim Democratic Labour Front has conveyed deep condolence on the death of a worker at a wine factory in Manpur recently. Passang Tamang was killed in an accident while at work there.
The ASDLF also observed a two-minute silence for the departed soul at a condolence meeting held today, it is informed.
SDF general secretary [publicity], TN Sharma, informs that ASDLF convenor, Krishna Kharel and vice-convenor, Manoj Kumar Gupta, called on the family members of the deceased at Turuk-Ramabong in South Sikkim yesterday.
It is further informed that the Front has placed a demand with the factory management to provide compensation and employment to a family member of the worker killed in harness and that this was taken positively by the management which has assured to provide all compensation at the earliest.
