GANGTOK, 11 Nov: The inauguration of Hotel Pratigya Residency situated opposite the Sadar Police Station in Gangtok was held today.
Speaking to the press, after the inauguration Dipten Banarjee [MD, Pratigya Housing & Finance Company Ltd] informed that since they were in the hotel business and he had visited Gangtok earlier and had liked the place and had thought of setting up a hotel here in Gangtok, too.
He also stated that the company already has two hotels in Andhra Pradesh, one in Kolkata and two more are to come up in West Bengal, a mineral water project in Bhagalpur and a tomato sauce factory in Jagdishpur. He also informed that they were also planning to set up a mineral water project in Sikkim, and was looking for a suitable place.
The hotel has 24 super deluxe rooms, a multi-cuisine resturant with the investment of Rs. 70 lakhs and has provided employment to 18 local youth as hotel staff.

Very bad service and bad behaviour of the General Manager Mr. Bibek Banerjee . They had served broken glass pieces in the Jam during breakfast from broken jam bottle and were not repentent inspite of injury tyo the tongue of the guests and said that there are no more jams in the breakfast. Do not take food in package as they do not serve what they commit and limited amount and then charge extra. Do not book this hotel. We had gone 13 persons on 7th April ,2013 and experience is very bad at Pratigya Residency.
