GANGTOK, 15 Nov: Children’s Day was celebrated by ICFAI University, Sikkim, at Lower Sichey yesterday in a function wherein the new students especially from Bhutan and Nepal were welcomed by the seniors, informs a press release.
Awards for the talent and creativity displayed by the students on National Education Day were also given during the function. Rignam Biswa of (BBA) Vth semester was awarded the first prize on the occasion while Ranjit Gurung of BCA ( Ist sem) was the runner-up.
The fresher’s welcome had originally been scheduled for 19 Sept. 2011 but had to be postponed due to the unfortunate earthquake on 18 Sept, the release mentions. ICFAI University, Sikkim, has also donated a small amount of money towards the CM’s Relief Fund, the release adds.
