GANGTOK, 13 Nov: Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya [JNV], Ravangla, South Sikkim observed Vigilance Week 2011 from 31 Oct to 05 Nov with a number of activities conducted at the Vidyalaya during the week, informs a press release.
On 31 Oct, all the staff members along with the school principal, Paramjit Singh, took an oath to be vigilant against corruption. On 02 Nov, an essay writing competition was organized on the topic ‘Evils of corruption in the society’ wherein 50 students participated at the Vidyalaya’s Academic block, the release informs.
A cartoon making competition was also organized on the same theme, on 03 Nov wherein 60 students participated while on 05 Nov, an awareness rally was taken out from the Vidyalaya to Ravangla Bazar. Also during the week, thoughts and speeches related to anti-corruption were delivered by students and teachers, the release adds.
