NED at Jorethang BAC

GANGTOK, 14 Nov: ‘Shiksha Ka Haq Abhiyan’ was launched in Jorethang BAC on National Education Day at CCCT Hall, Chisopani with a rally by students of Bhaisalgaon and Borbotey PS’s under the guidance of BAC, Jorethang, informs a press release.
Students and teachers of Borbotey PS and Bhaisalgaon PS participated along with SMC members and guardians.
The BDO, Jorethang, Anil Kumar Bhagdas read out the message of the Prime Minister on the occasion which highlighted the importance of elementary education under RTE. He also read out the biography of the first Education Minister of free India, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, whose birth anniversary is being celebrated as the National Education Day, the release informs.
Resource person, Lecturer DIET, Namchi, SK Hazra read out the message of the Chief Minister of Sikkim. He also deliberated on RTE and explained the various sections of RTE and its importance. AEO cum BRCC of Jorethang BAC, Reepa Lepcha read out the message of the Union Minster HRDD and a short history on Mr. Azad. The Headmaster of Bhailasgaon and In-Charge Headmaster of Borbotey spoke on RTE, mid- day meal scheme and encouraged the students to perform better.
The release further informs that the students performed a cultural show and participated in a painting completion on the topic “Shiksha Ka Haq”. The first prize went to Bhim Thapa, Class IV of Borbotey PS. Prizes were distributed to the winners and the dance troop.
